This sprawling Mediterranean-style residence in the Hollywood Hills is one of the many homes that screen icon Marilyn Monroe graced with her presence during her 36 short years.

The star lived in the home in 1952, at the time that she began an ill-fated romance with baseball great Joe DiMaggio. The two married in 1954, but Monroe filed for divorce nine months later.

As it happens, one of the rent checks that Monroe signed while living in the house hit the auction block in 2015 (though it failed to sell).

The 1930s home sits just west of the Hollywood Bowl in the exclusive Outpost Estates neighborhood. Perched on a hillside lot, it has two levels, with multiple balconies and a large wooden deck below.

The 3,335-square-foot home has four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. Interior details include tile floors, vaulted ceilings, French doors, and multiple fireplaces. An airy living room leads out to a roomy upper level terrace with room for outdoor dining.

Behind the house is a grassy yard, as well as a swimming pool and spa enclosed by trees and other vegetation. The home sits on an 8,228-square-foot lot with views across the hills.

Asking price is $2.695 million. (Marilyn’s rent? $237.82.)
